Road Trip: Are We There Yet?
Remember a memorable road trip. What made it memorable?
1. Garry said we tend to love beginnings and celebrate endings but struggle with the "in-between." Why do you think waiting is so difficult for us?
2. Read Exodus 13:17-18. God intentionally took Israel the longer route because He knew they weren't ready for the shorter one. Can you think of a time when something took longer than you wanted but later realized God was preparing you through it?
3. Which statement from the message connected with you the most?
"God wasn't just leading them to a destination; He was preparing them for it."
"The wilderness was more than a desert. It was a classroom."
"Faith isn't trusting God when you've arrived; it's trusting Him while the scenery is still changing."
Why did that stand out to you?
4. Garry challenged us to replace the question, "God, are we there yet?" with "God, what are You teaching me on this part of the road?" What "in-between" season are you currently walking through, and what do you think God might be teaching you there?
5. Read John 14:15-27. Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit is always with us. What are some practical ways we can remind ourselves of God's presence when life feels slow, uncertain, or frustrating?
