IMO (In My Opinion): You Don't Have What It Takes

Here are some questions to help you process this message and apply it to your life:

1. How old were you when you got your first job? What was it?

2. What thoughts or emotions come up for you when you hear the word ‘religion’? Are they positive or negative?

3. What stood out for you the most from today’s message or the series?

4. Read Luke 18:9-14. Righteousness and are big theological words that generally aren’t part of our everyday language yet they are important to our understanding of our need for Jesus and having a relationship with him. What do those words mean to you?

5. Read Luke 18:13-14. The Taxman prayed the simplest yet most life changing, eternity altering prayers we can pray - God, have mercy on me, a sinner. It’s an honest, raw and real prayer that acknowledges our standing before God. It’s a prayer that brings true freedom because it frees us from trying to earn God’s love or forgiveness as he extends his mercy and grace to us. Print or write it out and put it in a place where you can see it everyday as a reminder of God’s goodness and who we are in his sight. If you haven’t prayed that prayer we would encourage you to and if you do, let us know - admin@themeetingplace.org - because we’d love to help you as you continue on your journey with Jesus.
