Margin: Common Cents (Money)

1. What’s the dumbest or funniest thing you’ve ever bought that you didn’t really need? (Bonus points if it was on sale and you convinced yourself you were “saving money”)

2. In the message Garry mentioned how the Bible teaches that “the borrower is servant to the lender” Proverbs 22:7. How have you seen debt affect people’s freedom—whether your own or someone else’s?

3. Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” Matthew 6:21. If someone looked at your bank statement, what would they say you value most?

4. Garry suggested that “standard of living” and “quality of life” aren’t the same thing. What’s the difference between the two, and why do we often confuse them?

5. Of the four steps mentioned—Decide, Spy, Cut, Reduce— which one do you think would make the biggest difference in your financial life right now? Why?
